Responsibilities 

  • Strong safety mindset, ability to work with safety protocols, utilization of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and demonstrate proficiency in managing hazardous activities while ensuring personal and team safety

  • Lead and manage a team of carpenters, labourers and operators to construct concrete structures

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient utilization of resources

  • Motivate the team to maintain a high level of productivity and quality workmanship

  • Oversee installation of formwork systems (Peri, Aluma, Fly-Forms, Skydeck, Stick-build)

  • Coordinate with project managers and clients to resolve technical issues related to formwork design and installation

  • Conduct regular safety meetings (hazard assessments, toolbox meetings) and inspections to identify and control potential hazards

  • Take immediate action to address safety concerns ensuring the well-being of workers

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement project plans, schedule and budget

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and supplier to procure material and equipment needed for formwork construction

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in formwork construction with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisor or leadership role is considered an asset

  • In-depth knowledge of formwork systems

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the team

  • Problem solving skills with ability to make sound decisions under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders

  • Ability to communicate on predominantly English-speaking work sites

  • Able to work some overtime as required

  • Work in different weather situations and site conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb

  • Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness

  • Ability to work at heights

  • Ability and willingness to travel (usual return home for weekends)

  • Possess a valid driver license

  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

  • Computer literate

  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations
