Responsibilities 

  • Strong safety mindset, ability to work with safety protocols, utilization of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and demonstrate proficiency in managing hazardous activities while ensuring personal and team safety.

  • Clean surface pipes with scrapers and steel brushes.

  • Follow pipe installation checklist provided.

  • Load/unload materials at the beginning and end of day.

  • May dig holes or drainage ditches using shovels and picks.

  • Properly and diligently install water/sanitary/storm pipes and infrastructure for underground services.

  • Ensure all jobs are done in compliance with the safety measures under legislation, company policies and procedures. 

  • Participate in safety inspections and ensure findings from the inspections are promptly corrected by Lead Hands before starting to work.

  • Leveling earth to fine grade specifications using a rake and shovel.

  • Guiding heavy equipment operators around site and trenches.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years labour experience in the civil construction industry.

  • Intermediate English.

  • Underground infrastructure experience (underground pipe).

  • Strong safety mindset, with the ability to perform all duties with a high degree of safety consciousness.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
