Responsibilities
Strong safety mindset, ability to work with safety protocols, utilization of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and demonstrate proficiency in managing hazardous activities while ensuring personal and team safety.
Conduct quality crane inspections and complete all necessary paperwork required.
Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and electrical code specification to determine equipment layout.
Complete both electrical and mechanical servicing of lifting equipment.
Ensure customer logs are maintained updated with completed inspections and servicing.
Assess, repair, and modify lifting equipment as required.
Creative solutions to get customers back up and running in a safe manner.
Take an educating approach rather than an enforcement approach when equipment is out of compliance (a lot of clients just don’t know they are in violation).
Safety first mentality, just because something has always been done a certain way does not mean it could be the safest most practical way.Â
Qualifications
5 years of experience.
Intermediate level of English.
High School Diploma. Red Seal or college are considered an asset.
3rd year Electrical or Millwright apprentice. Journeyman Electrical or Industrial Millwright ticket considered an asset.
Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written.
Certification or courses in workplace safety are considered an asset.
Willing and able to work at heights up to 125 feet.
Read and interpret electrical drawings are considered an asset.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings are considered an asset.
Knowledge of applicable provincial and federal codes considered an asset.
