Responsibilities 

  • Strong safety mindset, ability to work with safety protocols, utilization of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and demonstrate proficiency in managing hazardous activities while ensuring personal and team safety.

  • Design and develop welding processes and procedures to meet project specifications.

  • Create and update welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR).

  • Inspect and test welds and materials to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Oversee and conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) and destructive testing to ensure weld integrity.

  • Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure welding operations align with project timelines and requirements.

  • Prepare cost estimates and timelines for welding projects.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to welding personnel and other engineering staff.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues and challenges on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience with various welding techniques and materials.

  • Intermediate level of English.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • In-depth knowledge of welding processes such as TIG, MIG, SMAW, and FCAW.

  • Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Proficiency with welding simulation software and CAD tools.

  • Certification or courses in workplace safety are considered an asset.Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification are considered an asset.

  • Experience with automation and robotic welding systems are considered an asset.

  • Advanced knowledge of metallurgy and material science are considered an asset.
