Responsibilities 

  • Strong safety mindset, ability to work with safety protocols, utilization of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and demonstrate proficiency in managing hazardous activities while ensuring personal and team safety

  • Safely and efficiently operate tower cranes to lift, move and position heavy construction materials such as formwork modular systems, concrete and steel

  • Follow all local regulations as to the safe operating and maintenance of tower cranes

  • Conduct pre-operational safety checks and maintenance of the crane to ensure proper functionality. Report any malfunctions or issues to the site supervisor

  • Maintain accurate records of crane operations, maintenance and inspections

  • Communicate with supervision and ground crews to ensure clear and effective communication during crane operations

  • Understand load limits and operate within the crane's rated capacity to prevent accidents

  • Safely operate crane under various weather conditions and challenging work environments, such as high winds or congested work sites

  • Capable of assisting with the erection and dismantling of tower cranes

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of safely operating tower cranes ten (10) tons or larger

  • Hold a valid Tower Crane Operators License

  • Experience operating tower cranes on busy construction sites

  • Strong technical knowledge of crane operations, load charts, safety protocols, and construction site procedures

  • Ability to work at heights for extended periods. Good physical health and stamina are required to handle demanding tasks.

  • Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate with site supervisors, ground crew, and other team members.

  • High level of attention to detail, particularly with load management, equipment checks, and safety procedures.

  • Able to work some overtime as required

  • Work in different weather situations and site conditions

  • Ability and willingness to travel (usual return home for weekends)

  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations
